Marketing Manchester attended VisitBritain’s flagship travel trade event ExploreGB Virtual throughout last week (1-5 March).
The event brought together over 350 industry suppliers and 350 international buyers from 25 markets for three days of one-to-one appointments sandwiched between an educational day with VisitBritain’s in-market representatives and travel agent peer networking.
Tim Manley, Emma Gordon and Megan Johnson from the marketing team attended on behalf of Marketing Manchester and carried out over 120 meetings across multiple time zones – from early morning meetings with contacts in the Asia-Pacific, China, India, the Gulf, and Europe to late night chats with agents based in North and South America.
ExploreGB Virtual provided a fantastic platform to promote Greater Manchester, the north of England, and a host of new bookable product that has been created as part of the Discover England Fund, including Scranchester’s Ancoats Tour and Manchester Taxi Tour’s Afternoon Tea Taxi Tour.
The event was one of many that the Marketing Manchester team are now starting to attend again as part of our plan towards the gradual recovery of the tourism, hospitality and leisure sector, including ITB Berlin on 9-12 March.
