Manchester showcases its renaissance during Conservative Party Conference

The Manchester Conference Partnership is using this week's Conservative Party Conference to highlight the renaissance the city has achieved in recent years, and to emphasise the areas that will be of most importance to our future economic growth.

With the Conservative Party holding its annual conference in Manchester for the first in 100 years, the partnership is using this opportunity to deliver its key messages directly to David Cameron and the rest of the shadow cabinet.

This is the second year that the partnership has taken a presence at all three main political party conferences, The Conference Partnership is a body made up of the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities, Central Salford, the Commission for the New Economy, Corridor Manchester, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Manchester Knowledge Capital, Marketing Manchester, MIDAS and New East Manchester.

Through a number of diverse stand sessions and fringe events to be held during the conference, the partnership will show the integral part it plays in informing the city on an important range of issues such as transport, skills and urban development.

Stand sessions are open to anyone with a conference pass and will run throughout the conference during official breaks.

Andrew Stokes, chief executive of Marketing Manchester said; "Political Party Conferences provide the ideal platform for the Conference Partnership to demonstrate how far Manchester has come over the past decade and its presence will go some way in showing how important the Partnership is in working in the interests of the city."

The partnership has also used the conference to launch a new promotional film that highlights Manchester as a major leisure and business destination and will be used throughout the year as a marketing tool for the city.
